What is a cantatille?

Corrette's Polymnie is classified as a "cantatille". Grove Music does not define it, though there are phrases like saying that Boismortier "followed fashion by abandoning the cantata in favour of the cantatille ", which sort of ties it to a cantata, but with no definition, it's hard to tell how closely.

Does anyone know this obscure term?

"Cantatille" is a french word, which means the same as "petite cantate"
