There are a number of Faure songs where the text is completely illegible. The texts of these songs are available elsewhaere, so I am planning on using Photoshop to replace the text. If I upload one of these edited scores, how should it be listed on a work page? Would it be a separate edition, or would it get listed with the original it is based on?

You would upload to the same page and simply mention that the text was restored or added by you in the "Misc. notes" field. They're not a new edition.
