Anyway, I wonder what when the first user starts submitting his 4-year-old kid's first compositions to IMSLP. It's bound to happen at some point. Christ, when I think about some of my own first compositions...
Who owns the copyright of a 4yo's pieces? :?

Where do you draw the line though? At 7 is it the child's copyright? A 15yo should own his or hers copyright surely. 10? 13? It is certainly the child's own creative work at 4 (well probably), but who controls it...

Good question. I suppose at 4 years old, a child is too young to be aware of his right to claim copyright for his own compositions. Maybe 12?

Is there a law on this? I haven't heard or read one ever.

Copyright is always with the person to create the piece

The copyright will always be with the child, the parents can sue you in the name of the child, though.
