Makris' Complete Works

Post by Makrisfoundation »

Hello,

We started posting Andreas Makris' complete works, after the extensive work has been done for the past two years by the editors of the Makris Foundation and the Mediterranean Press. We plan to include all old editions as well, but the most important addition will be the new 'Sibelius-engraved' scores and parts that were recently created.

In this regard, the question is how to designate these parts? Currently, we simply write "New Edition". And since this edition is clean and we feel better than any old ones (or the composer's manuscripts), should we post some remark to encourage the audience to download these, and only use the other (old ones) for research?

Second, since any new edition naturally could contain some mistakes (even thought we went several times through them to be sure that they are superb), how do we encourage the audience (and should we?) to participate in our project of editing/publishing Makris' complete works by submitting us their comments and/or corrections? Is there any other similar project here on IMSLP that encourages other users to participate and help/correct/comment in the same or similar way as WIKIPEDIA or IMSLP also works?

Finally, during the process of adding the scores, we made an error with the title of one composition, and would like to request a CORRECTION:
- from "REHEARSAL" change to "Antithesis"

Thanks,
Makris Foundation

You can set up a mailto link which will enable you to get emails about errata in the parts. I'll put one in for Aegean Festival and let you go to town on the rest since you seem to know the system here pretty well.
