Chales Valentin Alkan 'op. 30b'

Post by smerus »

Re the piece listed as 'Perpetuum mobile, Op.30b (Alkan, Charles-Valentin)':

This is not op. 30b by Alkan and is not entitled 'op 30b' on the score. Nor is 'op.30b' mentioned anywhere on the score, or, as far as I know, anywhere elseother than on IMSLP. There is no justification for listing it as Akan's 'op. 30b.' It is an etude arranged by Isidor Phillipp, entitled 'Perpetuum mobile', which, as the sub-title makes clear, is adapted from the finale of Alkan's Trio op. 30. I suggest therefore that it is relisted under Isidor Philipp. Thanks.
