Publication date clarification: Giuliani's op. 148

Post by wcsmith »

The page for Giulani's op. 148, "Giuliante" (http://imslp.org/wiki/Giulianate,_Op.14 ... ni,_Mauro)) lists ambiguously the publication date of this work as "ca. 1840?" To the contrary Soundboard magazine published an article (originally pub. Il Fronimo: Rivista di chitarra, 40(159) 7-18.) on the recent discovery of letters between Giuliani and his publisher, Artaria. Commentary by Thomas Heck (known for his musicological findings on early 19th C. guitar history and literature) on the first letter states the work was first published by Artaria in September of 1828 (see link below). I'm not familiar with the process whereby work pages are updated, but I present the argument for anyone who does.
