Neue Bach Ausgabe some broken links

Post by Alexander Reuter »

The Links for IMSLP #466349 (http://imslp.eu/files/imglnks/euimg/0/0 ... I,11.1.pdf) and #467333 (http://imslp.eu/files/imglnks/euimg/f/f ... I,11.2.pdf) are broken. I was lead to an 404 error site.
Thanks for any support.

Got the problem solved: Downloaded the file via the search feature.

As a admin I don't have the problem your talking about, but when I log off and try accessing the file, that page in the links above do appear... I assume a bug in the EU server.

No, the logs on the EU server show that sometimes the main IMSLP server invokes the file using a wrong name. This seems especially related to the presence of special characters in the filename (diacritis, blanks, underscores, ...). I think that Feldmahler is changing something on the main server, and this causes changes on filenames that need to be reverted on the main server or replicated on the regional servers, otherwise a naming misalignment results.

When the problem occurs, the workaround is to fetch the score directly from the regional server invoked:

1) access the simple file search tool available on the EU server at http://www.imslp.eu/autoindex/ and on the CA server at http://www.petruccilibrary.ca/autoindex/;

2) identify on the main IMSLP website the IMSLP number of the desired score;

3) enter the IMSLP number as a search key on the file search tool. Click "search";

4) click on the file name(s) resulting from the search to open and download them.
