On the vocal scores section for Gluck's iphigenie end tauride there is a separate section entitled ". 1781 Revision, Iphegenie auf Tauris " with a score under it. This score underneath claims the translator to be "Translator Johann Baptist von Alxinger (1755-1797) and the composer, German text"
However both of these are wrong. The score in question is just the normal French version with a German translation stuck on. It is *not* tgr 1781 revision which has substantial changes to the music to fit the German (and also Oreste changes from baritone to tenor) and which as a text by Alxinger and Gluck. That version is currently not available on imslp.
I don't think I can correct this myself- could somebody please do so as it is very misleading.
