Georg Ciffra's Rhapsody Romaine played by himself!!! If you like Liszt, Tausig and & Rhapsodies, give this piece a try!
It is UNBELIEVABLY well written...sounds like an improvisation all the way trough, but it is edited and available for purchase!

Sergei Rachmaninoff
Symphonic Dances, Op. 45
Minnesota Orchestra, Eiji Oue - conductor

I only wish this wasn't his last work, so I could view the sheet music.

La Procession du Rocio by Joaquin Turina. Exceptional piece. I wish someone would post it on IMSLP (provided it's in the public domain).

I just finished listening to Bach's Mass in B minor, BWV 232 (Otto Klemperer, New Philharmonia Orchestra). Right now, I'm contemplating moving on to Schumann's 4th Symphony - certainly my favourite.

Nikolai Kapustin - Piano Sonata No.2
Perhaps not quite classified under the classical music title, but it is actually a sonata, though you wouldnt believe it at first hearing for the jazz influences. Genius of a composer, much underplayed.

Schumann 3rd, Op. 97; Bernard Haitink and the Concertgebouw - possibly the best recording.

Lincolnshire Posy (I'm on Mvt. I: Horkstow Grange right now, I just started, though I intend to listen to the entire thing), by Percy Grainger. Most definitely his greatest musical accomplishment, and probably the greatest musical accomplishment of the 20th century.

A note on the recording I'm listening to; the Dallas Wind Symphony recently released an album called "Lincolnshire Posy" that includes Grainger's Lincolnshire Posy along with several of his other compositions, such as The Duke of Marlborough Fanfare, Irish Tune from Country Derry, Molly on the Shore and Shepherd's Hey, and many others. It is truly an exceptional album, and probably the best recording of Lincolnshire Posy available right now. Tone, expression, contrast is all unparalleled. I highly recommend this album for any Grainger lovers, and recommend the work of the Dallas Wind Symphony in general.

Mozart's Coronation Mass in C major, one of his greatest church music.
