That's undoubtedly because American orchestras simply HAVE to play warhorses instead, such as Tchaikovsky's 4th, 5th, and 6th.

Wouldn't want to challenge the concert audience, now, would we?

I also got my 2-volume full score of Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet from a different eBay seller. Unfortunately, eBay has been devoid of similar treasures for some time.

My Shostakovich volumes were from the Soviet-era Shostakovich edition. I would have thought they would now be available in the more recent Russian Shostakovich edition (the one with hardbount blue covers).

Larsson: The Winter's Tale - Epilogue. I don't think he is a particularly good composer, but this movement is phenomenal. It ends too soon, I think. I'm always longing for more at the end.

Gerald Finzi - Eclogue for Piano and String Orchestra. I don't care much for Finzi's songs, but this work of his is great. Him, Frank Bridge, and Britten are my favorite English composers.

I love Prokofiev's Romeo & Juliet - I even got to see it at the Marinsky - but... Lorin Maazel? I shudder at the thought :?

As for me, I'm listening to a few Lieder of Schubert's by Elly Ameling (Baldwin, Gage and Demus at the piano depending on the piece).
