IMLSP and cross-site scripting (XSS)

Post by felixblumenfeld »

For the second time in two days, Internet Explorer 8 (on Windows XP SP3) has displayed at the top of my window a security message about cross-site scripting (XSS) when I clicked on a link to IMLSP in a Google results page: "Internet Explorer has modified this page to help prevent cross-site scripting". The page nevertheless seems to display correctly. This never happened before and I have not changed any of the settings on my computer or in IE. The help file says that it is a filter that "can help prevent one website from adding script code to another website".

Can you provide the actual links? Because XSS is so broad it is almost impossible to explain unless we know the actual links.

Sorry, I cannot remember which link caused the problem, which seems to have disappeared. I have not encountered it since I wrote this post.
