I couldn't find in the Category Walker, and I wonder if there is, a "search by death [or birth, or first publication] date" function.
IMHO it would be very useful!

It would be useful, but it would be complicated for publication dates.

We would have to work out Russian dates as well. They didn't switch to the Gregorian calender until 1917. We don't even know when a lot of Russian artists were born. Nijinsky for instance...
