Does anyone have any information on the tempo indication of the 2nd movement Scherzo in the 1st concerto?

There's also a concertino in G by him for piano, by the way (pub. 1932.) Don't know the answer to your question as yet. That said, since the first concerto was published in reduction by Schott in 1922 (a copy is held by Pancras Library, British etc), it should be -possible- to answer this question and even upload the result to IMSLP...

There is a disc with the composer at the piano. The duration of the scherzo is 7:17. Here is a link:

Duration wasn't the question, I know, but tempo indication (and that could differ between thr autograph manuscript(s), first edition score, reduction which could give 3 different answers...)

If the scherzo has say 800 measures (i don´t know the real number), each of them needs =0,54625 seconds, so we have 110 measures in each
minute. The tempo indication would therefore be 110 for a dotted half note.

Actually, I forgot to look at the first page of this thread... and Notenschreiber, that's not called tempo indication, that's called Metronome marking. Sometimes that's the only initial tempo indication one gets (as with Wolpe's string quartet e.g.), but that doesn't mean they're the same thing (a philosophical question )

I'm still waiting. Is there a title tempo for the scherzo, or is it just called "scherzo"?

Several methods of finding this out have been suggested (e.g. asking the British Library librarians about their copy?)

Notenschreiber, the kind of tempo indication I'm talking about is Allegro, Vivace, Presto, Allegretto, etc.

Its just "Scherzo" for the second movement.

I. Moderato
II. Scherzo
III. Andante
IV. Animato

If we are dealing with Metronome markings, alot of times, composers during this period, even the late romantic won't have tempo marking all the time in pieces, not really until the 20th century.

Presto Classical wouldn't always have the full information on a score. That's why it's so important to have the score available. I've often noticed that a label will only put the 'title' of a movement that has an actual tempo, i.e. 'Allegro' on a track listing, e.g. Mosonyi's Symphony No. 1, which has a scherzo titled only 'Scherzo', but a finale marked 'Allegro'. The only available recording of it has merely 'Scherzo' and 'Finale' for the track listings.
