Engelsmann 1882-1951 is still under copyright in Europe, so you will not be able to get copies at Dresden, or Berlin SB (it is in their scanned card catalog). You will have to contact Kahnt (belongs now to Peters (Germany) for archive copies http://www.edition-peters.de/cms/deutsc ... rvice.html or rely on NYPL.

Thank you for the advice concerning Dresden.
Still hoping for someone in the vicinity of the NYPL.

NYPL - Research or Branch (circulating) library? The former, I seem to recall, only allows limited copying (even of out-of-copyright scores) on any one visit, unfortunately.

Sorry Eric, I'm unsure. It is designated 'off-site request'.

Since I can't send in private here, let me just say that I'm grateful to kalliwoda for his recent, unexpected news. Many thanks.
