Hi all,

I'd be very grateful if someone could post this opera by Cilea, it contains an aria which i'd be delighted to use for a program.

Thanks a lot for any help,

Tom

Performed in 1889 but apparently not published in any form until 2000 (by Sonzogno), so I'm thinking it very unlikely that we can help you except by directing you to libraries you can borrow the score from or etc. -sorry!...

The (very interesting; people with Naxos Music Library access can download the) program notes to the Bongiovanni recording of Gina confirm that the work did, indeed, remain in manuscript form until the modern premiere (that is, first performance in modern times) of the work in 2000. (The overture is missing from that 1888 October-December (revised 1889 for performance) autograph manuscript @ Naples' San Pietro a Majella library - it was found separately in the Cilea Museum in Palmi.)

Hey thanks for the response,

I have two questions- Was this sonzogno score in piano and vocal or full? And was it available for online purchase anywhere? I cant seem to find it.

Direct from the publisher:

http://www.sonzogno.it/it/compositore?i ... &opera=487

("In vendita: spartito (3136) per canto e pianoforte " - so the vocal score is in preparation, I think that means?)

"spartito" means "score"

A noleggio: materiale d'orchestra
In vendita: spartito (3136) per canto e pianoforte
means that orchestral parts are available for rental, while the vocal score is on sale. Available at SheetMusicPlus (expensive):

The U. S. distributor is Theodore Presser, and Presser's catalog number for that item is actually 511-01121.
