Hi,
I believe this horn quartet should be in public domain (at least for the 50 year rule). Unfortunately my local library does not have a copy of this score and the closest is 500 miles away...
Many thanks.

Perhaps you would help us researching by quoting the information you have obtained. Which library? Manuscript or edition? Score or parts? What are FC Homilus's life dates?

Re: Friedrich Constantin Homilius - Horn Quartet
Yes of course.
Life dates: 1813-1902
There is a modern arrangement by the American Horn Quartet. That's probably not in public domain.
Some libraries with the music (excluding the David Johnson edition I just mentioned):
US:
Stony Brook University
New York Public Library System (New Yorkers please stay safe!)
UPenn
Library of Congress
Indiana University Bloomington
U Wisconsin Milwaukee
University of Arizona Libraries
UC Davis
Canada:
U Toronto
Western University
Europe:
Hochschule Luzern
Openbare Bibliotheek Amsterdam
Bibliotheek Rotterdam
Thank you!

Re: Friedrich Constantin Homilius - Horn Quartet
The Friedrich Hofmeister edition is probably what you want (plate 2132 assuming my google result was correct). Given the surrounding plate numbers (see https://imslp.org/wiki/Friedrich_Hofmeister) it seems it would put the initial printing date somewhere in 1835-1836. This fits pretty well with the composer's dates (1813-1902). It looks like it's still in print and could probably be bought and scanned.
