Carl Tausig Serenade opus 4

Post by Geisterschiff »

Hi music lovers! I am searching two score very hard to find by Carl Tausig. Serenade opus 4 and Offenbach's Ernani-Gallopp. The Serenade could have been printed in Russia like his earlier works. Any tip or suggestion is mostly welcome!!!
In the meantime I offer to Tausig's fans my reading of his piece Das Geisterschiff (The Ghost Schip) in

The Tausig serenade seems to be a very rare score. I will try to see if I can find it, but it may be difficult.

Congratulations on the excellent interpretation of Das Geisterschiff. I really love this work. You might like to know that for YouTube videos you can add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL and the audio quality is much better:

Tausig's Serenade

Post by Geisterschiff »

Thank you so much Goldberg!
Since all Tausig's belongings after he died went dispersed trough a public auction (!) it is a real detective work to find them again! I greatly appreciated the extra letters on the URL it made a great difference in sound...Truly yours Geisterschiff

I was not aware of this piece, but are you thinking of the reverie which I had posted a few weeks ago?

P.S. your Das Geisterschiff was much better than Rian De Waal's.

Dear Tausig 2,
No, as far as I know it really called Serenade and it was published as opus 4, probably by Heinrichsen.
Unforntunately it Germany it seems to have vanished completely unless it is in hidden in some private collection.
The WWII destroyed so much!
Thank you for the compliment about the Ghost Ship. I am glad you like it.
Who knows how Tausig would have played his piece himself!!!
All best, Geisterschiff.
