Re: Merulo canzoni

At Merulo's time, it'd be unlikely that organs have pedals (or at least with complete playable notes, basically having keys which served to change the registers). And of course, an intabulated piece - to be played solo - can be for 4 voices, or even more. All Ricercari d’intavolatura d’organo pieces...

Re: RISM abbreviations

I have the collection I scanned from a library two years ago. Since the catalogue itself is not protected by copyright, I've just sent it to your email (anyone who wants it, please, just ask and I'll send you).

Since last year I've been working on this list, but there is a long way to go.

Re: RISM abbreviations

Hi! The indication of one date with a superscript number refers to catalogue published in RISM B-I series (Printed Anthologies of Music up to 1700). Looking on it there is this entry to 1596⁸: Madrigali a otto voci. De diversi eccellenti et famosi autori, Con alcuni dialoghi, et echo, per cantar et ...

Re: Bassano, Motetti, madrigali

Hi Steltz! I don't know if my statement will be clear at some point but I think this relates to the solution (or not) of your question. At least until the Baroque era we cannot confirm with certainty what is a piece in this original (i.e. as intended by the composer) form. Of course we can look for ...

"Javanese" server not available?

I've seen that, at least for me, some files I tried to download from javanese.imslp.info forward to this message "Welcome to nginx!". Has anybody experienced it?

Thanks,

Re: Robert Stolz Frühling in Wien

Since Stolz died in 1975, his works will be in public domain in Canada (where IMSLP is hosted) only in 2026. However, other users can help you to find this score through libraries or music shops. I couldn't find any source to help you, sorry.

Re: Conference of the Canadian Association of Music Librarie

Hi Homer,

If you don't mind, I'd like to see your presentation, since I found the summaries a bit too brief. Are you thinking to do another presentation in IAML/IMS congress next year?

Scores from Vatican Library with watermarks

It's a very good news that Vatican Library, through digitalization work of Heidelberg University Library, is putting online some great scores from its archives. I'm sorry if it's reopening an old treat about this issue that I don't know, but I wonder it the PD images with watermarks provided by HUL ...

Internet Archive hosts two IMSLP data dumps from December 2012 and January 2014. Maybe it can help you:

Re: New Custom Categories (CCats) - Experimental

Yes, the key is worth to be shown. Now the table is more wider, so this information doesn't perturb. Not grouping by letter in alphabetical order, it makes the table more useful in terms of gathering information. :)

Re: New Custom Categories (CCats) - Experimental

I think it'd be a good feature to work page for those composers who don't have a "list of works" created manually. So, two small suggestions to it: 1- Any possibility to create a sortable wikitable to organize the pieces by year (I'd suggest here also the publication year), tonality, etc.?...
