Re: Attribution of Internet Archive scans

Hi Steltz, I'm sorry about my statement, I can't be 100% sure about the mention of scanning library. What I'd like to say that all cases I saw from Internet Archive, which are a small portion of course, there are that mention. Regarding the Gauntlett's 100 Tunes, with Hymns for the Year the IA templ...

Re: Attribution of Internet Archive scans

Rethinking about the Internet Archive: I have seen that in 100% cases the original provenance is attributed. A suggestion: if the "scanned by" field change to "mirrored by"? It's understandable that worry from the libraries, but if there are complaints about scanning attribution,...

Re: Attribution of Internet Archive scans

Great work, Davydov! The RISM sigla seems me the best way to describe the libraries in a standardized way, shortly and internationally recognized. On musicological works, it's unanimous. But most of times the library where the score is deposited is not responsible for the scanning, but a third part ...

They c...

Re: DIAMM and IMSLP

I'm happy to see this debate is bringing up important questions. Nobody here minimize the role of DIAMM to modern medieval musicology and its social importance to the public, but when one refers to IMSLP as a machine, it means for example that a 12 years old boy scanning from Beethoven's Pour Elise ...

Re: DIAMM and IMSLP

Dear all, I've been following the thread since yesterday, but the speed of the conversation was so fast with a lot of topics that only now I have time to write. Like Cypresdone did, I'd like to thanks a lot Andrew, Olivier, NMTB and GregSkidmore for posting your opinion here. As we're in IMSLP forum...

Re: Telemann TWV 40: "102-107"

Understood. I was thinking in the very strict sense of the term transcription. As you said, Notenschreiber, Graupner's cantatas and another hundreds more of Baroque (and earlier) modern editions are a good example for don't move these sonatas to transcriptions tab. Becky, I won't split the pages. I'...

Re: Telemann TWV 40: "102-107"

Hi Notenschreiber, I also don't see Knuth's and Csakan's editions are arrangements, as you said the recorder version is mentioned in the preface. But I think that these editions are transcriptions, since they modified the original recorder G1 clef for a G2 one. I know that it's a very small editoria...

Re: IMSLP website(s) not working for me?

Dears, recently on twitter of IMSLP: "Apologies all for the recent downtime. If anyone knows of a good quality and decent priced Canadian dedicated server host, drop me a note." (29 out). Is there some connection with this problem?
