An autograph facsimile for Haydn's HobVIIb:2

Post by Celloyo »

Greetings,

Please forgive me if I have not inserted this query in the correct forum.

I have been trying to find out whether
- any facsimile exists for Haydn's Cello Concerto no.2 in D (HobVII:2)
- anyone with access to it would be allowed to copy / upload it, and if not
is anyone able to give contacts / leads to a facsimile of the autograph to borrow / inspect?

Thank you very much,
K. K.

For those of you who are also interested to know, I found it online! At the Austrian National Library.

http://aleph18.onb.ac.at/F/VUSMEGQIK1KA ... lo&x=0&y=0

from the ÖNB-HANNA-Catalogue
you can use their search engine if the display above doesn't refresh / becomes out of date.

http://aleph.onb.ac.at/F?func=file&file ... base=ONB06

Just enter a search, like:
"Haydn Concerto Violoncello"
You should come up with the display entry :-)
Greetings!

Thanks Celloyo!
I have uploaded the manuscript (autograph facsimile) both in color (large size) and in B/W. Nice find!

And thank you for producing a file and uploading it etc.

I have somewhat crudely - yet effectively - dissected the autograph images to extract a solo part of sorts
(no other orchestral parts though).
In any case (albeit the crudeness) I see it as a very useful tool, and it may be likewise for others(?)

Please mention if you'd like a sample (my output in 6 bitmap images - conversion to PDF is not something I mastered yet)
- to see if it's decent enough to upload?

Great thanks,
K. K.
