Martin, Frank — Quatre sonnets à Cassandre (1921 Heugel)

Post by joshtakovich »

I'd like to post scans of the full score and parts to Frank Martin's Quatre sonnets à Cassandre. This work was published by Heugel in 1921 and is thus public domain in the United States. The scan I have is a public domain reprint from The Well-Tempered Press, distributed by Masters Music Publications (E. F. Kalmus). The reprint has no editorial additions and bears no copyright and thus is not subject to its own, new copyright term.

I'm not having luck proving all of that, though. I checked for new registrations in the volumes from 1919 to 1925 but cannot find this work or a renewal. There is a WorldCat entry for this work, but it's not for the score and parts, it's for a vocal score (piano reduction) which has a later copyright date.

Not actually published in 1921, according to all the evidence I can find. This piece was composed in 1921, but first published around 1939/1940.
